Schooled Too, The Final Lesson Plan by Deena Bright
Release date: June 6, 2013
My rating: 4 smutless stars
The raunchy, witty gang from Schooled is back again, but this time what they lack in full-out graphic erotica, they more than make up for in humor, sarcasm, sexual innuendo, and believe it or not, emotional angst.
Now that Janelle Garrity’s reputation has been slandered all over her hometown, and the locals are referring to her as “Professor Pedophile,” she has a lot of cleansing of her good name to tend to. But that won’t stop her from still getting down and dirty with her sexy boy toys, Briggs Alexander and Leo Cling. Both men taught her about that four-letter word, lust. But, can they further her education and teach her even more about love? Briggs and Leo both possess secrets that Janelle never saw coming. Will those secrets be too much for her, causing this teacher to dismiss class early? Or does Janelle Garrity, teacher extraordinaire, have that special ability to turn all situations into a “teachable moment” for everyone involved?
Inquiring and dirty minds want to know; will Janelle hold on to that hunky football star, taking him all the way to the end zone? Or will Janelle choose the romance-reading intellectual as her other half? The Final Lesson Plan will give you all the answers, and you won’t even have to cheat.
I asked Deena where her motivation to write this great story came from... Here is what she had to say...
I’ve never really been stumped before; I’m 100% stumped right now. When I was asked what my motivation to write or where I got the characters and plot from, I was completely stumped. I don’t know. Contrary to popular belief, I have never slept with a student, been attracted to a student, or fantasized about a student. I guess the idea for Schooled was born when I saw That’s My Boy with Adam Sandler. After the movie, a few of my husband’s friends were talking about teachers they had crushes on. Well, I’d known that erotica was on the rise, so I figured that I’d couple the two and make millions. Well, I combined the two, wrote a book, and made enough money to buy a loveseat. Ah well, life’s a learning curve.
The conversations that the characters in the book have are basically conversations that I’ve had with my friends or would have with them. I would say that my friends and I have the same sense of humor and vulgar wit that Char and Janelle do. I like books that are heavy on dialogue, so I include a lot of dialogue to entertain myself. Sometimes, I sit there typing a passage, just laughing like it’s real. I think it’s pretty “geeky” to sit and laugh at a book you’re reading. The “nerd factor” skyrockets when you’re laughing audibly to stuff you’re actually writing. So what motivates me? My inner nerd…
We were left hanging a little at the end of Schooled. The proposition these boys, I mean men, gave Janelle was jaw-dropping. Intriguing, but jaw-dropping. Coming into this book, we know there is going to be jealously and some heartbreak!
I knew who I was rooting for from the very beginning of the first book. I am not going to say who I was rooting for, because then I would be a spoiler since that is who came out on top.... Well, actually everyone came out on top.
I was pleased with how the rest of this story played out. I was not disappointed in any way with any part of this book. Deena changed up her writing style a little in this book. I absolutely loved the side dialogue in this book. It made it so much more entertaining and page-turning.
Alexander and Leo seem to want to fight until the death of one another for the love and attention of Janelle. On some level, who wouldn't want to great men vying for them? Janelle eats it up, which causes her some confusion, and forces her to start making some hard choices.
Revenge is sought in the most perfect way with her ex-husband. I had to laugh right along with Janelle's character. We all have that one person we could never stand up to, but at some point have to let karma kick them in the ass.
Be prepared for more than one spark of love in this book. There are a few twists in this conclusion we should have all seen coming. Maybe we did, but we ignored them with the intrigue from the main plot of the story. Things end up as they should be. You won't be disappointed in how this book ends. You will laugh, cry and smile all through this book... maybe not in that order and in some cases you may do all at the same time.
