SynopsisCome Together is the third and final installment of The Cityscape Series.
With a single decision, Olivia Germaine’s fantasy has become a reality. Now she is faced with two commitments: one she must make and one she must break. But in order to accept a love she never thought possible, Olivia will have to let go of the broken past that defines her - and of deeply-rooted fears that could ruin everything.
Everything is what David Dylan wants to give her, and it’s what he wants in return. He must prove to Olivia that despite his playboy ways, he’s worth leaving behind the stable future her husband can offer her. David is a man who always gets what he wants . . . but this time he may be fighting for something unattainable.
Can Olivia escape the past that threatens to consume her?
And can David break through to her before it does?
I will admit, I have the first two books in this series and wish I had read them first. I think if I had, the rating of this book would be just a bit higher. I really enjoyed this book and was able to read it very quickly. I just couldn’t seem to put it down.
This isn’t just a love story of two people trying to find themselves as a couple. This is a story of people letting themselves go from deep inside in order to have a relationship that beats any other relationship. It is about two people owning each other from the inside-out. The inner struggles these characters have help create the drama we need in these stories.
Olivia is only human. Although she has left her husband for David. Her guilt consumes her. It is hard for her to not feel for those she has hurt by leaving her husband. However, her guilt could cost her the relationship she is wanting with David. He is not a compromising person. Now that he has her, he wants her devotion to be solely to him. He has a hard time understanding that it is hard to turn off simple emotions such as guilt. Although they both need to let things go from within, they both find a love that rivals all love.
The back and forth struggle between these two is almost poetic. Their story is one of just living in the moment. Taking life by the horns and riding it out. Believe it or not, this story is more than just a love story. What I get from it is struggle and courage are important things in life. Without them, life isn’t life. Once obstacles are overcome, there will be more, but in the end, everything you truly want in life is worth fighting for, especially when it comes to someone you love. Love has no bounds. This book is a true testament to that!
