Review: The Intern Volume Two by Brooke Cumberland

The Intern Volume Two by Brooke Cumberland
Release Date:  June 25, 2014
My Rating:  ✯✯✯✯✯

My cock noticed her before I did.
She came out of nowhere.
Completely unexpected.

And I let her in…unwillingly.
But she gave me no choice.
She sledgehammered my thick walls, leaving me charmed by her knowledge, and seduced by her beauty.

I was captivated.

And now…it was about to tumble down in a tsunami of lies.
Uncertainty riveted my core as my anger spread…she was impossible to forget.
After all, she was still my intern.

Forbidden.
Lust.
Betrayal.

I felt all of those things for her at once. But only one would destroy us.

So, at the end of Volume One, we were left gasping, wondering what was going to happen since Bentley had caught Ceci....

Now we pick back up with him standing there, not sure how to approach the situation.  He is sure she is lying to him about something.  However, he is so enamored with her, he is having a hard time coming to terms with his gut feeling.

The heat between these two continues to ignite and the plot continues to thicken.  Both Ceci and Bentley fight their internal battles, losing sight of what really is going on between them.

Ceci needs to keep her mind on figuring out her father's murder.  Bentley needs to remember that Ceci is his intern, and he should not be pursuing her in any way.  However, the burning desire and need between these two seems to overpower all of everything they know is right and wrong.

I couldn't get enough of this story.  It was too quick for me though.  Of coarse we are left with our jaws left wide open at the end of this one, too.  We can only hope that Brooke is able to wrap this story up in the next book, since it's supposed to be a three-part series.  However, I can see this going into four possible books, which I have no qualms over.

She’s sexy, fierce, and a loud-mouthed know-it-all…and she’s completely off limits.

Cecilia isn’t your typical college student. Hell, she isn’t a college student at all, but that doesn’t stop her from applying for one of the biggest and prestigious enterprises in the Midwest.

She wants it. She takes it.
She doesn’t let anything get in her way when it comes to finding out the truth.

When Bentley Leighton, soon-to-be CEO of Leighton Enterprises, meets “Ceci,” he’s instantly impressed. He doesn’t have time to train a new intern. However, when he sees her that first day, his intentions begin to change.

He’s the boss. She’s the intern.
Nothing can happen. It’s against the company rules.

Then again, some rules were made to be broken.

What starts as innocent flirting becomes raveled up into so much more—secrets, lies, deceit.

*The Intern is a three-part romantic suspense serial.*
Not suitable for readers under 18.
