After the Internship: A Novella is meant to be read after The Intern, Vol. 3
This is a continuation of Bentley & Ceci's story… does not have to be read to have a HEA, but adds to their final story.
Sometimes happily ever after isn’t quite what it seems.
Bentley and Ceci thought they had their happy ending, but not everything or everyone will be as it seems. Fortune and fame have a price, and when the past comes back to ruin their perfectly, stable family, how will they recover their once epic love story?
You thought their story was over, but it was only the beginning.
Brooke Cumberland is a USA Today Bestselling author who's a stay-at-home mom and writes full-time. She lives in the frozen tundra of Packer Nation with her husband, 3 year old wild child, and two teenage stepsons. When she's not writing, you can find her reading love stories, listening to music that inspires her, and laughing with her family. Brooke is addicted to Starbucks' Caramel Macchiatos, yoga pants, and sweets. She found her passion for telling stories during winter break one year in grad school--and she hasn't stopped since.
*** 4-Stars ***
Where to start... I wasn't sure where Brooke was going to take us with this book. I mean, what more could she throw at us? Bentley and Ceci were back together, after all...
So now we get to see them struggling to make their relationship work after the internship (pun partially intended). Enter the real world. Paparazzi. Long distances. Drama. This book takes us on a new, short journey.
Their relationship is tested some more. Trust. That has always been the issue. Their past not allowing their trust to be as strong as they want it to be. New/old relationships rekindled. Bonding ensuing in places we didn't know existed. A little tear jerkers here and there.
Overall, this book will leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling in the pit of your stomach. Although, I don't care much for Ceci's character, she pushes me just a little more to her side in this final book. If you have read the series so far, this is a book you MUST read. If you haven't, well I suggest you do!
