Dark Fever (Fever #1) by Karen Marie Moning

"My name is MacKayla, Mac for short. I'm a sidhe-seer, one who sees the Fae, a fact I accepted only recently and very reluctantly.

My philosophy is pretty simple - any day nobody's trying to kill me is a good day in my book. I haven't had many good days lately. Not since the walls between Man and Fae came down. But then, there's not a sidhe-seer alive who's had a good day since then."

When MacKayla's sister was murdered, she left a single clue to her death, a cryptic message on Mac's cell phone. Journeying to Ireland in search of answers, Mac is soon faced with an even greater challenge: staying alive long enough to master a power she had no idea she possessed - a gift that allows her to see beyond the world of man, into the dangerous realm of the Fae.

As Mac delves deeper into the mystery of her sister's death, her every move is shadowed by the dark, mysterious Jericho...while at the same time, the ruthless V'lane - an alpha Fae who makes sex an addiction for human women - closes in on her. As the boundary between worlds begins to crumble, Mac's true mission becomes clear: to find the elusive Sinsar Dubhbefore someone else claims the all-powerful Dark Book - because whoever gets to it first holds nothing less than complete control both worlds in their hands.

****4 Star Review****

I bought these books a couple years ago and they sat on my shelf. I've heard nothing but great things about them but kept putting them off for some reason. Now I'm kicking myself because this author just took me to another world from the comfort of my sofa. I think I may be a little addicted!

Mac is annoying as hell for most of the book but she kind of grows on you. She reminds me of Alicia Silverstone in Clueless who may turn out to be a badass but I think that was the authors intent.

Mac's sister is murdered in Ireland and the Garda close the case unsolved. This doesn't work for Mac, so she jumps on a plane to Ireland in search of answers. What she gets is a whole new world and a million more questions in her life. You will also have a million questions.

Jericho is using her to find the book....as well as keep her alive, I think. Is he good?! Is he bad?! Just add those questions to the many you will inquire.

There is way more to talk about when it comes to this book but for me to get into details without spoiling it, would be hard. PLUS, there is sooooo much I don't even know yet.

Things are about to be crazy and I can not wait to see what happens!!!
