Can you live a lie?
It’s a ghost town, this place that haunts me, the one that made me.
It’s clear to me that I’ll never outgrow Triple Falls or outlive the time I spent here.
I can still feel them all, my boys of summer.
Even when I’d sensed the danger, I gave in.
I didn’t heed a single warning. I let my sickness, my love, both rule and ruin me. I played my part, eyes wide open, tempting fate until it delivered.
There was never going to be an escape.
All of us are to blame for what happened. All of us serving our own sentences. We were careless and reckless, thinking our youth made us indestructible, exempt from our sins, and it cost us all.
I’m done pretending I didn’t leave the largest part of me between these hills and valleys, between the sea of trees that hold my secrets.
It’s the reason I’m back. To make peace with my fate.
And if I can’t grieve enough to cure myself in my time here, I’ll remain sick. That will be my curse.
But it’s time to confess, to myself more so than any other, that I’d hindered my chances because of the way I was built, and because of the men who built me.
At this point, I just want to make peace with who I am, no matter what ending I get.
Because I can no longer live a lie.

***** 5 Stars *****
After the cliffhanger in Flock, I couldn't wait for this book!!! There were so many questions that needed answers and we get them all in Exodus.
This book picks up were we left off in Flock and give us a lot of background info into these characters. I loved getting to know these characters even more. For a small portion of the book, I wanted to smack our girl, Cecelia. With everything that went down with Sean and Dom I couldn't believe she was doing what she was doing. Like, girl, have a little patience BUUUTTTT then my heart was in full bloom and I was happy for her. (So hard to express me love without spoilers!!)
My heart was all happy and in love but Mrs. Kate Stewart didn’t allow that to last long. She stomped on my heart and put tears in my eyes. Like WHY?!?! HOW CAN YOU DO THAT?! My heart hurt badly. My kindle may have been thrown a time or five🤷♀️
But have no fear, eventually, your heart will heal and be full of love but Kate makes you really work for it. My heart still has a crack in it because WHYYYYYYYYY DID YOU DO THAT KATE?! Tsk tsk.
Again, it’s so hard to write this review because I have so much to say about it and can't. Just go in 100% blind, avoid the reviews and judge for yourself the hotness that takes part in this book. This is totally my cup of goodness! Loved it!!
You must read book 1, Flock, before starting this book. Get them, read them, throw your kindle a couple times, cry, scream at the author and then let your heart melt for all of these characters.
Many thanks to WordSmith Publicity for handling the tour and giving me the opportunity to read an advanced copy!
