The 411 On Book of the Month Club

August 3, 2017

What is Book of the Month? Why should you subscribe? How much does it cost? Is it worth it?
Below you will find the answers to all of these questions and more. I have subscribed for almost a year now. Out of all of the book subscriptions I have tried, this one is hands down my favorite one.

What is Book of the Month?

Book of the Month is a monthly book subscription. You get one book a month of your choosing. On the 1st of every month, five different selections are posted for that month. You pick which one you want. Plus, you can pick up to two more selections from the current month or their ENTIRE backlist of books. Plus, sometimes there will be an extra section of extra books to pick from. All books are new releases and hardbacks.

How much does it cost?

You have three options with Book of the Month. A 3-month plan for $44.97 ($14.99 per month), the 6-month plan for $83.94 ($13.99 per month) and the 12-month plan for $143.88 ($11.99 per month)
Each additional hardback you choose is also $9.99.

What if I don't want any of the selections for the current month?

If none of the selections jump out at you, you can just skip the month by not choosing one. You have until the 5th of every month to choose a book. If you have purchased a subscription and you skip a month, your renewal will be moved out a month.

When does it ship?

On the first of every month, you choose which book(s) you wish to receive. You will have until the 5th of the month to choose your selection. Once you have selection your book(s), you have the option to "ship now" for $1, unless you add another book or item to your shipment, then it is free. Or you can wait and it will ship on the 6th of the month.

Why should I subscribe?

Why not? Where else are you going to get hardback novels of your choosing at such a low cost? Where else can you choose what book(s) you get? Other book subscriptions surprise you with what book(s) you get, which can be fun. Let's face it though, the likelihood of getting a book that you really don't want to read could be a possibility. For me, the only time I don't mind that is when they are signed paperbacks. No one wants to pay for books they don't want.
