**** 4 Star Review ****

If you read my review for the first book in this series, you would know that I was stuck somewhere in the middle with it. I was hoping for more from this book and the next. I got a little more from this one like I wanted, and I am still hoping for even more from the last book when it comes out.

I wasn't necessarily a fan of Aranea in the first book. I would like to say that that changed. It really didn't. She grew on me a little bit in this book. But I just can't get on board with her back and forth from weak to strong. I got whiplash from her ever-changing personality in that aspect.

Aside from Aranea's character, I was gravitating towards Sterling even more in this book. Although his domineering personality is over the top, at times it works. I almost slipped with him in this one though. I felt he is willing to go a little further than I would like a character to go to keep Aranea "safe". I am not going to go into the particulars here because those would be a bit spoilerish.

The story itself is moving along in a much better pace at this point. I was turning the pages hoping to get some clues to answers. I think I know some things, but that doesn't always seem to be the way it goes with Aleatha's books. So my suspicions will have to wait to be seen. I am enjoying where the story is starting to go. I can't wait to get my hands on the final book. I am really curious how everything is going to come together.
